Front speaker packed in - please help!

hi there - please help!!

my drivers side door speaker has suddenly deceided not to work. I have checked the speaker is ok, and wired in another speaker onto the same wiring connector and that didnt work either. The wiring in the door looks ok and the drivers side tweeter works ok.

Can anyone help me where to look next??

Do you have a Monsoon radio? Maybe you should check the wiring at the amp. See if you're really getting any audio coming out.

Dont know!! - im in the UK, so it has the standard VW cassette/radio player, with the 6 disc CD changer in the boot.
