The correlation between frequency and bass is that bass is a low frequency. The human ear is not capable of positioning low frequency sounds, that's why yoy can hav a sub in the trunk and still have a "stereo" experience from yoy normal speakers. Which cut-off frequency you should choose is rather hard to predict. If your normal speakers don't go very low, you might get a better sound by choosing the highest frequency. But then you might also start hearing sounds from the rear, messing up you stereo experience. Off course this works vice versa as well. When setting to the lowest frequency you'll have no problems with your stereo image, but you might not get full coverage in the low area. Get the point?
Anyway, it's pretty easy to change those settings, and you are the one listening to your radio, so just adjust it untill you like it the best!
