Question HELP PLZ need to know which is the fuse for the radio in a '99 NB

Hey All:

I just bought a '99 NB Thursday (two days ago) & the radio doesn't work...won't even power-up. I am hoping it is merely the fuse but need to know which one is for the radio.
NOTE: there is no "Bing Bing your door is open" sound ...or a "Bing Bing your key is in the ignition" sound either. Could anyone please describe where on the fuse panel these are located??

I need to be able to drown out the boyfriend or our long road trips will become unbearable .

Thanx so much, the folks here rock!!

Here's a map for the fuse card.

Thanks Antoine...

There is also a fuse on the back of the actual Head Unit radio, it's a 10amp fuse I believe. You may need to pop your radio out and change this one as well.

Did you ever get this resolved? Mine did the exact same thing the other day. At first I thought it was just the radio, but I noticed the "bing bing your door" stuff missing as well.

I did get it resolved to a degree. As it turned out I took it to the dealer where I bought the car; the dealership fixed it free-of-charge (go figure).

It now powers-up but often beeps then reads 'error' when I start the car...it is attempting to start a nonexistent tape, I merely hit FM & all is good. I still have no "Bing Bing your door is open" sound but don't miss it.

I have done a dig for the invoice & have it right here so let me quote it for you:

"Radio had a blown fuse, replace fuse, power is restored to radio but screen is blank, this is an indication radio has terminated itself as if it was being given the wrong codes. Radio code 1819."

I hope this is of some help to you.

Peace,
ChrysalisUnfurled

You need to buy the radio removal tool. I just purchased mine. Some dealers will do it for free, and others will try to charge you 50-60 dollars like my dealer tried. I just bought the removal tool off eBay for $7.00 with shipping included. It's a must have.
The only draw back is waiting for the part to arrive in the mail.
Other than that, I was golden. Good luck.
