Default HELP! Can't get stereo out.

I can NOT get my stereo out. It's the stock head from a 2000 New Beetle. I am using the keys for a MKIV Jetta and was told they should work...but I am having noooooo luck. It's INCREDIBLY frustrating. Am I missing something??

Cool

My dealer unlocked the latches on my NB for NO CHARGE. All I did was ask...but some dealers charge (thieves)...Call your dealer...

There are several different keys... are yours pointed or round on the end?

Here is a link to a photo of the removal tool set.

IIRC it was the blade tips that point to the lower right but may have been the blades that point up. I'll check tonight when I get home (I marked them). Regardless, it wasn't the blades that point to the lower left.

This is what I use for my 2000 GLX.
The keys have to be facing the right direction and they are L & R
