HELP activ or non activ !!!!!!!

hello, im going to put in a new stereo in my 98 beetle. when i went to get the dash kit they asked if i had an activ or non activ system ? i looked on the stereo face it said nothing like that anywhere. when i looked in the manual i could not find anything talking about activ non activ. could someone out there help shed some light. thanks.

I too am wondering about this...i would like to buy an install kit for my stereo but not sure if it's active or non active....anyone with some ideas? i have a 2000 Beetle GLS w jus tthe basic tape player (not monsoon)
