Post Putting Subs In My Beetle

I tried putting subs into my beetle. I got the wiring under the carpet and through the firewall. Everything go connected to where it should be but once I went to connect my battery the subs and amp didn't turn on . Trial and error began, I kept everything in my car but used the battery from another car and it worked perfectly fine.

Any idea why it did not work with my battery???

It's possible your battery may be at the end of its natural life. Mine died out at about 5 years and this was the original factory battery. I would recommend the Opitma Yellow top as a replacement

First off, take a voltage meter and test your positive wire that's runnin from the battery to the amp and make sure your seeing 12 or more volts. If you don't have voltage they're, then check your fuse or circuit breaker(which you SHOUD have installed within 12" of the battery) and make sure you don't have a blown fuse or that the circuit breaker isn't tripped. If you do have voltage at the amp side of the power wire, then check your remote wire and make sure its seeing 12 volts when the car is on or in acc mode. If you have power at both the remote wire and the power wire then check your ground and make sure its making a good connection. Remember your ground wire should be grounded somewhere within 24" of the amp, not at the battery and it should be the same gauge as the power wire. Hope this helps, Erik....
