Do you know what brand the dash kit is? Who did the work? Where did it come from?

If you bought it from somebody like Crutchfield, call them up and talk to them about it. If a local installer did it, same thing, talk to them about it.

I just did an install in my NB, and I'm not too happy with the dash kit either. But it will always be a challenge to put a square plug into a round hole, and have it look right. I think I'm willing to live with the performance upgrade over the visual imperfections (time will tell).

Provide a few more details and maybe a pic, it'll be easier to help.

I dont know the brand of the dash kit...I got it done at circuit city and i went back there, they said they could make me a carbon fiber one or something like that for $100 bucks ! no way im paying that much for such a small piece ! I loooove the dvd player but after a couple of months, it has started to bug me a bit the way it looks =[

Heres a couple of pics:

If i remember correctly when you use that face you have have another piece behind it so that it will sit flush. There should've been three plastic pieces about that size in the kit, two of them are for the front, and the other one is a spacer. you're supposed to bolt the spacer through the same mounting holes for the console there. They installed it wrong. It should be pretty flush once that is done. Mine was close enough that i just threw some body filler on it to remove the lines and repainted it.

that looks like the one i had, it was only one peice, except mine sat flush.

it looks like maybe they shaved off some of the back of the kit to make the radio not stick out as much. i dont reanny know what looks wors,e thos radio sticking out antoher half inch or the dash peice sitting in about a half inch like that.

If you want someone to look at it and make it sit flush more, i'm not too far away, and i'm always willing to help.

Wow! You're right, that is pretty bad looking. As HaloUmpaLumpa said, it looks like there is a piece missing that would push everything out to be flush with the dash. I did mine with a Scosche kit and it does look better than that. Are you willing to redo the installation? Free installation at Circuit City is never really free after all.

According to the manual for that deck the trim bezel does come off (http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/Man...10VM9311T.PDF). The Scosche kit has the deck mount in the metal sleve that comes with the deck and then a new trim plate snaps on the front. So the deck is actually recessed behind the trim plate.

In short I think it could be re-done to look better. Good luck, I hope I've helped.

That's an interesting looking kit! It looks like the deck will mount to the two screws that are left and right of the opening. So, you'll need to set the depth of the deck before the trim plate snaps on. It also looks like you'll need to remove the trim plate on the deck. Keep us posted!

I just did my radio today. I used a kit from Crutchfields and it looks great. Also, it sits flush with the rest of the dash and was made up of 3 pieces. Try them.

This looks like the pics of the kit we bought off ebay. Looks mutch better than the crutchfield/most other company kits (made by metra IIRC). No kit will look right unless you take the time to plastic weld it in and smooth the dash. No matter what you will have lines unless you modify the center dash piece.
