Question OEM Beetle Stereo Question!!

I need to know if a 1999 Beetle Stereo will fit a 2000 Beetle? The one I'm interested in buying is coming from a 1999 beetle and mine is a 2000. it looks exactly like mine only cleaner lol. if anyone knows if it will work or not please let me know asap!!!! THanks!

I believe it will work but you have to have a manufactuers code or some kind of code put it so the car's computer will recognise it. some one i am sure will elaborate on this

Not sure either but I think only the 98 is different...I could be way off and they could all eb same

it should work as long as it's the same style. example if you have monsoon and it's a non-monsoon. than you still need the code thing.

if i need a code thing, how would i get iti? would i call the most local dealership or would they have to program it? it looks exactly the same, so i figured as long as the wries fit it should work. i'll buy it and find out then!

Ask the original owner to go to an authorized VW dealership or repair place. With the original cars VIN number, they can look up the radio code. They did this with mine for free. The code itself was just three digits.

The code that came with my NBC Monsoon radio was a 4 digit number. If the code is 1234, you press the 1 button one time, the second button twice, the third button three times and the fourth button four times.
