Default burnt cds are playable!!!!!!

who would've thought that stock HU's could play burnt cds. i tried a homemade one yesterday and it worked crystal clear and all. so is it just burnt audio cdr's that work on stockies or will anything go, even though mine said it wouldn't play burnt discs?

I've been playing burnt CD's in my changer forever...
Guess I never got the memo about them not working

You should be able to play any CD as long as it was recorded correctly. I think some burning software (that isnt used anymore i think) used to burn the CDs without finalizing them or something so they'd only play on select players. I've never had issues playing a burnt CD anywhere.

It could also have to do with the type of file.

I have never had a problem with playing a burnt CD in my stock player, although my kids have had problems playing them on some of their older equipment.

Next question is, do they play CD-RW discs. No, I don't own a Beetle... yet.
