I have Sirius. Im not sure if you asking about Sat Rad or XM in general. Anyway, after Sat Rad, regular FM doesn't even compare. I loveit.

I have my Roady2 on a mount that sits in a cup holder in the center console. I've been looking to possibly replace it, however, because the display is fading. Something to think about is that the new radios have something called SureConnect, which is a "feature" that requires you to attach a wire to the antenna. There might still be some leftover radios that have the normal power fm transmitter.

I have a SkyFi2 on a ProFit mount behind the passenger grab bar. The antenna is on the roof and the wires are hidden in the moulding with the excess under the center dash. I have not hardwired it, though i wish i had. I use the built in FM modulator and have only had minor issues on bad weather days.

Check my pic thread for examples.
