My 98 NB comes with the cassette deck which I'm still using for mp3.
The only thing that bugs me is the auto reverse, it automatically switches to side B when NB runs on a bump or something. It's pretty annoying when you're enjoying a song, wait 5 to 8 seconds, back to side A. And it happens way too frequently to make me ask this (not sure if it's been asked b4). Is there a way to disable auto reverse? |

That and the auto skip are rather annoying.
What brand adapter do you use? My brother had better luck with the cheaper ones than the more expensive.

I was going to get a Sony, but a local warehouse outlet has this brand for 10 bucks so I gave it a try.
http://www.si5.com/products.php?pID=4010 The sound quality is not bad. It just kept switching sides. On the package of the adapter it says "if your deck has auto reverse, sound may be distorted" I really don't know if it's the player or the adapter that causes the problem. If there's one way to disable auto reverse, I think I'd go for it. |

When I have my iPod paused or if a song goes too quiet for my Bug to handle it'll switch sides. It pisses me off because after a few switches it spits the tape out and messes up my lil ghetto wiring I have going on.
I'm going to try the thingy posted above about holding down the scan button and see if that helps tomorrow.

![]() This didn't work for me! What am I doing wrong? I tried it with the car on and the car off. Do I have to have a Monsoon to do this, or does it work with the base-model? Is it because I have a '99? I can only get a menu with the radio on, and it's for auto volume and CD Mix options. Do I have to have a tape in the deck to access those options? Help me, help me! ![]() |
