I just had my safety inspection this morning actually. They checked my airbags but somehow passed right over the speeding.

There are no saftey inspections where I live. If there was I would be in trouble because I don't have a cat on my exhaust.

Removing an air bag is not illegal. They are not required but most car manfs are giving them to us as part of the standard safety features. If it were illegal then you would not be able to turn the passenger one off (in some cars), or buy after market steering wheels. It is just like 99% of cars now have the 3rd brake light, it is not required and there is no repercussions for removing it or having the light out.

Decided to go a different route. I will find something to put in that location though.
