Default OEM mp3 player?

Hello everyone! This is my first post for this forum, my gf recently bought a 2001 automatic 2.0 beetle. It has a tape player but of course she wants a cd player. I would prefer for her to get an mp3 player, hopefully OEM, so i was wondering what if any year beetles came with mp3 players?
Thanks

Your best bet is to buy aftermarket. I believe that 2005+ have MP3 CD, and auxiliary jack.

I went with a Sony aftermarket in my 2003.

There was a device called the PhatNoise that was made to hook up in place of the trunk mounted CD changer. If you could find one of those, it might be just what she wants!

BTW, welcome to the .org!
