Default odd and even frequency

HI

Living in Sweden and imported a NBC from texas 04. Its a VW standard radio in it. In europe we have even and odd frequencies. THe car radio has only odd frequencies. Guess you only have odd ones in states....

Now anyone know if VW can "re program" them to have both odd/even freq or do I need to change the whole radio?

Good forum by the way.

yup---we just have the odd frequencies here.

might be easier/cheaper to find a used european NB radio (with unlock code).

not sure if vw can reprogram the radio.

good luck, and welcome to the .org!

I never thought about this!

I do know that our radios don't go far enough down in range for 1 station.

I think I'd have to agree with Warren about the switch. I find that mine is pretty limited in function changes.

It might be worth it to you to shop around if you have a cassette deck. You could fix the radio AND get a in-dash cd player by getting a radio.

I'd recommend getting a used one; I see them sell here stateside for $100USD or so. It might not be too hard to find one where you're at.
