Default Sirius standard?

Is Sirius standard on all Beetles - even the S? I'm waiting for my NB to arrive from San Diego. The salesman tells me it won't have Sirius but the brochure says it is standard on all Beetles. I currently have XM and love it - how does Sirius compare? I hear the first 3 months are free with Beetles. Any Sirius/Beetle experience out there?

I believe the first Satellite system in the beetle was XM, but recently they switched to Sirius.

I have Sirius as an add-on, but I really like it. Mainly have it because of Stern though.

They are working on merging the two companies right now though, so you might be able to get the XM programming you like eventually when that occurs.

Default Thanks!

I think Sirius will be OK. I checked out the channel line up on the web site and they seem pretty much the same - trade Opie and Anthony for Stern and Oprah for Martha - but otherwise pretty much the same. How about it being standard on NBs though. Anyone have an S with built in Sirius?

You used to be able to specify which service you wanted prior to '06, but I don't know how far back model-year-wise you can go with that information. In '06 a running change was made to Sirius only... I ordered and contracted for my '06 to have an XM radio, and it came through with Sirius. As I had XM subscriptions in my other vehicles I didn't want to switch over, so I had them change the radio to XM... the salesman told me at the time (late July '06) that they did it as an "accommodation" to me, apparently by switching out a hard-to-get, not-in-stock, Overnight-FedEx'd-in-from-far-away module under the dash somewhere (I drove it for a couple of days before they did it, and my station preferences remained, so I know they didn't switch the radio out). He has always been honest and reliable with me... he said my NBC might possibly be one of the last NBs with XM in the '06 model run. Then again, they might have told him that, too, before he relayed it to me...

My hubby has Sirius in his Passat. He loves it and I really enjoy it also as I get to sing to the oldies. I am now wishing I had it. Oh will, Christmas is only 10 months away. Oh, he also popped for the lifetme subscription package which I understand is no longer available.
