Default iPod Converter Question

Our '07 NBC is in the shop having the driver door re-painted because it was scratched badly on the lot before we bought it. So I decided to go ahead and have them install the iPod Converter while it was there. We have iPods, but we also have iPhones. I think I know the answer to this already... But has anyone tried the iPod Converter on an iPhone? Were you able to navigate through playlists, or did you iPhone smoke and sizzle when your plugged it in? I'm not daring enough to try it myself, so if nobody's tried it, I'll stick to the iPods.

I'm still relatively new to using my iPod converter, but I can't get it to play on shuffle or to play a playlist - it likes to just go in order... any help on this one?

Thumbs up

I have had no prob with my iPhone. Sometimes when I attach it to an outside system I get a message that tells me that the system was not designed for iPhone and the phone will go into Airplane Mode. I have not seen this message when attaching the phone to my '08 Beetle. When the phone rings the music fades and I can disconnect and answer with no problem. I'm not sure if this will be the case if you are adding an adaptor though.

The G6 iPod and the iPhone are geared to work with the same electronics I believe, the G5 iPod is compatible with current iPod electronics but not vice-versa.

The iPhone may work with car adapters but if they weren't designed for it, then the interaction could cause glitching or other performance problems, this has been my experience and this the feedback that I have obtained from Apple tech. support, I have also been told this by other iPod/car audio interface companies.

My iPhone works with my car audio iPod interface but sometimes strange anomalies occur so I stopped connecting it.
