Default No Bass // Monsoon Amp Issue?

As the title states at this point I have no bass or to me seems like no 'amp' to my music.

This started about 2 days ago and before that I loved the cars factory audio system and had no plans for upgrading.

Today I had a chance to drive more and it even with the bass cranked to a +9 I get no 'thump' and the music itself seems a little 'tinny'.

Car is 03 GLS with monsoon system and changer in armrest.

Is there a fuse or wire or plug that could have gone bad? Car has been perfect for the 2 weeks I have had it.

Any help would be great. Went to vw dealer today about getting a key made and asked service guy about this and he was kinda clueless.... Figured the best people to ask would be the end users anyways.

Also, where would the factory amp be?

Thanks for any info and the hopeful fast responses

(ps if this is a double post sorry, couldn't find my other thread and I just figured I didn't hit submit at work)

The amp is behind the rear panel in the trunk to the left. I would think it is likely just a fuse or connection problem, but if your amp has gone bad you can prolly buy one right here from someone who has upgraded.

does anyone know where the fuse for the amp might be? Would it be on/in the amp?

I found the amp in the trunk. Stupid me can't figure out how to pull the rear trim piece off that is around the amp(with out just yanking which would just cause more issues lol) so any help on that would be great too.

All (aftermarket) Amps I used to have had one fuse (or more) "on" them. Easy to change without opening the amp. The size of the fuse depends on the amp. Aftermarket amps also have a fuse in the power cable...

I don't really know about stock amps - as I had the (cheapest) oem system...

yea ive had aftermarket systems in my car before so I know there 'should' be a fuse either there or in the fuse block or under the hood. Check the fuse block on driverside and the fuses under the hood and those look fine.

I just cant figure out how to get the factory amp out of its current location to look and see if it has a fuse or not.
