Did you turn up the volume on the mp3 player? Do you have a good cable and is it plugged in all the way on both ends? I max out the volume on my Creative Zen, then adjust the volume as needed on the stereo. Sometimes the cable slips out a little on the Zen and sounds weird.

It seems that aux is not amplified, it sounds very low on mine too.

You must turn up the volume on the device (ipod, zune, other mp3 player) in order to hear it through the mp3 aux jack. Once you have the volume turned up on the device, you can do additional volume control through the headunit volume knob. There are several threads discussing this.

If you have no volume or low volume after doing this, then take it back to the dealer for them to fix. It is possible the jack is messed up. This happened with several of the '06 models.
