Default Wrong Cable for Aux input in new beetle 2008

I got a new beetle last week and I ordered a 3.5mm cable from monoprice. ( link). I noticed that the cable doesn't snap all the way in on the aux port, so the sound it a bit hollow. Did I order the wrong cable or is something wrong with the port? I couldn't find the cable required on the VW site.

I did turn up the volume to full blast on the ipod touch.

I had the same problem on my '08 NB. The aux. cable went it, but didn't stay in place, and the sound sucked. I went through a couple of cables before calling my dealer. They had me bring it in, and I found that it needed to be replaced. It's apprently pretty common on the '08s, but more on the vert than tintops.

It took them all of 30 minutes to replace the jack...now it sounds really good!

I'd call the dealer, and bring it in to have it looked at. It's under warranty, so it will only cost you some time.

Good luck...let us hear what happened!!

I agree - I had the same problem and it was fixed very quickly. you might also try a different cord - it might not be hitting the right spots in the receptor. I bought my 6-inch cord at radio shack for about three dollars and made sure both ends matched the plug of my headset.
