Default 07 Auxillary Help

Hi everyone

I bought my 07 nb last year and i was wondering if there is an auxillary output in the car or if it has to be added aftermarket?

Ive read other threads and had a look around the boot and cup holders but I havent been able to find anything Any help would be appreciated

Thanks!!

Do you mean auxiliary output (so you could plug in headphones or whatnot) or an auxiliary input (so you could plug an iPod or other MP3 player into your car stereo)?

If there's not one that comes stock in the car, it will have to be added aftermarket. That could be costly, so unless you're really motivated to keep your car stock, I would go with an aftermarket deck with auxiliary input standard.

The input to plug in your Mp3 player is next to the radio. I use mine all the time - very handy!!

Opps I mean an input so I can plug in an Mp3 player sorry.

I don't think there is a plug next to my radio. Im not too fussed about keeping it standard so I guess an aftermarket deck would be a good option. Thanks alot!

You have one. They were standard after 04 or 05 I think. Did VW move it on 06 and newer?? Not sure. Did you check under the radio, above the storage tray? Mine is right above the cupholders passenger side or where your storage tray is. Just feel with your finger.

This is picture I took at the dealer of a 2007 NB. The arrow is pointing to where I think the input is, or at least where it is pre-06. I underlined where it says aux input jack. You do have one - it's there somewhere!!

I think it's the same on hardtops and verts. Your stereo has the mp3 on it and mine doesn't. I wonder why...?

I have an '07 NBC. Look just below the left side of the grab handle mount, and go down about 3-4" and you will see a tiny jack. Aux jack is located there.

When all else fails...maybe check the owner's manual. Not trying to be a smart ass here, merely just making a suggestion. I had overlooked the fact that you are located in Australia...a wonderful country indeed!

I find it strange that your '07 over there and my '07 over here would be different. Strange things have happened though.

Yeah I checked my manual and the weirdest thing is that there is a pic of a jack right near the cupholders but on my one, its just not there.

Thanks alot anyways I think I might just have to look into an aftermarket deck

On my 07, (Salsa Red just like yours)its located on the lower portion of the panel between the glove box and the switch panel that controls your seat heaters etc. Its on the beige panel, not the black part, provided of course you have beige interior and dash panels.

Hmmmmm... it's not a Monsoon radio, now, is it? Doesn't have the markings. Could that be the issue?
