Default Simple Aftermarket CD Player Question

Ok,
2001 beetle with a tape deck am/fm radio, doesnt say monsoon anywhere, no CD changer in trunk.

I have a pioneer deh-2000mp H/U. and the wiring adapter and antenna adapter, and the neccesary VW removal keys.

Is this just a wire up, and plug in job>? Or am I missing something .. will it screw up diagnostics, etc etc

i keep reading a lot of problems.

I just want a CD player in this car!!

tips/help appreciated! doing it in about 1hr.

Thanks

on the power wires section of the harness, i think it's the black one, but i might be wrong, make sure you only have the constant 12v, switched 12v, and ground hooked up to it.

All those other wires are for the diagnostic system and should never be plugged into an aftermarket radio.

When you pull out the radio, there will be a diagram on it telling you the pinout. just make sure it matches the harness you have.

other than that,s it's pretty plug and play. if you have a powered antenna adapter, hook up your power antenna lead to that, and not to the car's harness.

yup. it's pretty easy. just make sure you don't plug anything into the diag wires if the harness you bought has leads going to them.
