Default Ipod?

Is there anyway to hook up my ipod to play in my car without using the radio transmitter that plays through the radio? Those are always fuzzy! My beetle is a 2001 with the monsoon package, it has the standard tape player and a cd changer in the back. Also my driver side speaker is going out, where can I find a replacement for a OEM Monsoon package?

Thanks for your help!!

Default One IPOD alternative is to...

purchase the IPOD cord that plugs into one of your 12v point points and also transmits on an FM frequency through your internal wiring. It works much better than the standard FM transmitter.

I've been using a cassette adaptor for my ipod and never had a problem.

I heard there is a cable that you can plug into the same port the cd-changer is hooked up too and get your ipod on your monsoon. Look for write-up by marvinsdad.

i purchased an iPod docs from Enfig. I have 2 docs. My Jetta has the Dice Electronics and my NB has the USA spec. Both are very good and the guys from Enfig are really great.

You mentioned the driver's side speaker is going out and you have Monsoon. I bought a set of two used ones on ebay for about 90 bucks shipped, which work perfectly, but if you go to a dealership, they typically want around $120 for each speaker. The part number I have for my 2002 NB's Monsoon speakers is 1C0 035 411 E . Hope this helps. It looks like 1st VW lists them for $87.27 each.

hmm well looking around I see that vw now makes an ipod adapter that plugs into the cd changer port. Anyone know for sure if that works on a 02 monsoon?

Call Crutchfield. I'm pretty sure they will know what works for what cars. 1-888-955-6000 24/7

  1. Is it a lot cheaper than the CD-changer adapter?
