Default cd changer

hi,

can i add a cd changer to my 03 beet that has the factory cassette/radio head unit?

where to get one?

if not, what are the alternatives, and are there cd head units, aftermarket, that can fit the slot on the dash without looking "wrong".

thanks

Here's what I have (see below) in my '04 NBC...Found it on eBay for $189 last year. The connector is in the convertible console on mine (and yours, I assume). Plug and play.

An 03 might still have the changer cable in the trunk.

i am interested in this as well. i have a 01 beetle and can't do much of anything with my stereo. i purchased him used and the previous owners decided to take the trunk cd changer with them. ::shakes fist:: so all i was left with was a crappy old tape player. so i tried to make the best of the situation by using a tape adapter for my ipod. yep, red could tell the difference and refused to play the tape adapter. i would get a "tape err" message. lame, i know. so i got one of those transmitters which really sucks because the sound's not clean. i hate static! so now i don't know what to get. i'd really like to get a deck that's ipod ready and that's about it. radio sucks in san antonio anyway and who really uses cds anymore? so that's all i really need. oh and it would be nice if it would match the instrument panel or something but i'm not too picky.

Actually, the CD changers like the previous owner had aren't that expensive on eBay...
