Default CD changer wont work

It's been about 2 months and my CD changer does not work!
Can anybody help?

When I press the CD button on my radio dashboard it says CD 0 and Track 63 it's weird and I have no clue what happened.
Although in the past when I used to put the rack of Cd's into the changer it used to make noise like if it was going into place, but now it doesn't make noise when i insert it in.

Thank you!

That's the same message mine gave me!! I just took her into VW today and was told that my CD changer is dead. Whatever they did cleared the Track 63 error, and now it is playing CD's - but only when it wants to, so it plays like 2 songs and then says "error", so it may not be completely dead, but it's certainly on the way there! They said there is nothing they can do to fix it.

You can buy them on eBay pretty cheap ... and installation is a no-brainer. I sold mine on eBay a while back cause I didn't need it anymore ... it went for $45 + $20 shipping.

Okay, so this happened around May or June when my changer wouldn't work... So recently I overheated my car and it killed my battery... I charged it 4 weeks later from my incident, and when I turned on my radio today my CD's started playing... it was so cool, I almost spent $300 for a new changer from a dealership, now it works, how cool lol

Why spend that much from a dealer, when you can have a used Phatnoise for a lot less than that?

Phatnoise looks totally cool! Where do you get one though? I searched for it online but they discontinued it, probably because they were bought out by Harman Kardon? And I don't see it on Harman Kardon's website.

The CD changer in my 03 Beetle sometimes pops up with an "error" message. Mostly it happens when it is cold outside or when I put the magazine in with new CDs. I attribute it to poor quality.

If I ever get a permanent fault I plan on buying a generic CD player from Best Buy and installing it in the dash with one of those adapter kits. IMHO, the changer in the trunk is a PITA.
