I'm enjoying my '08 Laser Blue NB but I'm bored of burning cds after cds on the mp3 player. I'd like to hook up my ipod and was wondering what the pros and cons might be before I invest any cash.
Option 1: Auxilliary cable... it sounds like I can buy a $20-$30 cable at Best Buy or whichever big box retailer. I imagine that one would simply control the ipod's clickwheel thingy to change songs and folders? Any improvement to the sound? Option 2: Get an integrated VW OEM ipod adapter that fits in the glovebox or wherever. I had this in my Mini Cooper S and loved it, since I could control it through my in-dash buttons. Any suggestions? Thanks! |

I'm not super technical but I did a quick google search on both options and came across this article that makes Option 2 sound like the less attractive of the two.

If I recall, the playlist options in my Mini were limited to 6 - owing to the number of pre-set folders.
And setting it to random play? Forget it, as the mix would go across ALL the albums. Sometimes I would have movie scores, hard rock and other genres and had no interest in cross-mixing. Ugh, I hate ipod and itunes! |
