Default Routing of CD Changer wiring?

Hey all. I have an idea for an interface for an AUX input, but I need to know where the wiring for the CD Changer travels through the car.

Does it go under the E-brake handle? If it does, that would be AWESOME. If not, I can make it work, but it will be lots more work.

Pretty sure it travels thru the drivers floor channel under the door.

but in later year cars (like 2004) the changer was in the center console. so perhaps they always ran it thru there.

easyest thing to do would b e to pull up the rear seat bottom, and see if you can find it under the carpet (the wiring for the changer that is)

The blue and red wires that go to AUX would most likely be in a stereo jack mounted next to the DPDT switch. I just have to find out which wire does what in the CD changer now.... Bentley to the rescue!

Bringing this thread back from the dead for a moment...

I'm trying to find out what the name of the connector that goes to the CD changer is. Does anyone know? I'm talking about a name like LEMO, BNC, Molex, etc.

I'm thinking about making a "CD changer / AUX switcher" available for sale to anyone that wants one, but I want to make it as pain free as possible for installation (ie no soldering for end-users).

Sorry I can't help with the name...
But I think that is a great idea! I am thinking about getting sirius for my beetle, and would rahter have it be connected to the hear unit through an aux input rather than the fm transmitter, but I also have a CDchanger that i would still want to continure using...
