Angry Radio ate my tape!

Help! Is there anyway to get the tape out of the cassette player? it won't give it back. Matter of fact it sucked it all the way in, and can barely reach it with my fingertips.

It's the stock radio that came with the car.
Any help is much appreciated.

Great news! Time for a CD player upgrade!

No really, I have never had that happen. I would sacrafice the tape in there, cut it, and work it out of there, little by little. Good luck!

I have the six CD changer in the trunk.
Never used the tape deck until this time.
Figured I would try it out and unfortunately used a tape that's no longer available.

Guess I'm sacrificing it to the tape angels.

Thanks.

My favorite Christmas music is still on a bunch of casettes. The former station manager, Oedipus Rex for WBCN in Boston was purported to have the largest personal Christmas music collection. For 24 hours beginning Christmas Eve he gave all the station personnel Christmas off and he played continuous Christmas music. Not one bad Xmas song in the whole 24 hour period.

But I digress, I'm not able to help with cassette eating decks.

I once disassembled a floppy disk drive, removed the stuck disk, put it back together, and had it work. You could try the same (but I make no guarantees!).

I didn't realize that much unique Christmas music existed! (You'd never know it from the radio stations around here...) Makes me wish I had a list of those songs.

I never took the time to create a title list, but if anyone has the ability to xfer these tape to tape or tape to disc, I'd be willing to share. I'd also like to have them in disc format as well. On a side note, none of his Christmas extravaganzas were repeat playlists of the previous years and I think he did this for at least a dozen years.

Same thing happened to me awhile back. I pulled the radio out, carefully took it apart and was able to salvage the tape. Put it back together, reinstalled and warned all the family members to never, ever try to play another tape.

Good luck!!!

I remember "back in the old days" you could use a Qtip and some alcohol and clean the capstan and head (once the tape was removed) as I recall those were the culprits responsible for tape eating. Subsequent occasional cleanings seemed to alleviate the problem.
