some dealers want $$$ for it. if you have trouble give me the vin# and serial # off the radio and i can get it for you for free.

I have heard the radio code is written on the radio itself on a sticker. I know the sticker in the trunk has the engine code, AEG, AZH etc.
If you were able to take it out, you should be able to find the code.

There was a guy on the Vw Vortex forms who would look up radio codes for free. Try going to http://forums.vwvortex.com/ and searching for radio code.
