Default Wanted MONSOON head unit and cd changer

I am looking for a MONSOON head unit and a cd changer to fit in the center console of an 03 conv. The previous owner of my wifes conv. had removed the original head unit and cd and replaced it with an indash Panasonic unit. Sound is terrible. Very hollow and have to crank it to hear with roof down and then very distorted. From what I can tell the original MONSOON speakers and trunk amp are still intact. Let me know what you have. Must be in good condition and with code. Thanks

Thanks for the heads up, but I need the cd changer for the center console in the convertible not the trunk unit. But I will follow up on the head unit. Thanks for the reply.

Also, just a question... Why not kill two birds with one stone and order the Monsoon CD Player that was installed in later beetles? You could also install an AUX jack for an iPod or other MP3 player at the same time since the radio will already be out. Just a question/ suggestion.

Oh and you're very welcome btw!

I didn't know that the newer units would fit the 03. Are they plug and play or is the wiring different. Haven't seen the cd head units advertised, only the cassette models.

Should be plug and play. Its the same thing as installing a new headunit but sticking with the OEM vw one. Just make sure to go monsoon to monsoon if you do.

I have a 2003 Monsoon head unit, with code and the center console CD changer. I will PM you too. Live in MN. Looking to sell both as I want to go to an aftermarket stereo. Let me know how much you're looking to spend. All works perfectly!

Sorry to hijack, but i have a monsoon question. If i switch to an aftermarket deck, will i still get the full rich deep sound of the monsoon, or is the head unit what makes it the monsoon (so to speak)?
