Default BlitzSafe Ipod Adapter Malfunctioning?

Hey guys,

I recently bought a Blitzsafe Ipod Interface on Ebay for my 2001 New Beetle Sport w/Monsoon stereo. Supposedly it's plug and play through the CD changer input on the back of the stock stereo, while controlling the IPOD through the device itself (not stereo controls). I've installed using several methods (w/radio on as designated, and w/battery unplugged) and each time the interface is connected w/Ipod (tried different generations/Ipod devices) the only consistent message i'm getting is "No CD Changer" on the stereo face. The connections themselves, as well as the stereo removal were no problem, just that the stereo doesn't recognize the interface unit. Has anyone else experienced similar issues w/either this model or a comparable one? How about the official VW ipod interface? I'd love to take the bug into the dealership, at the same time that'd defeat the purpose ($$$, self installation edification). Thanks for any help!

The EBAY item is similar to the following:

You most likly did not ground the Black ground wire to the radio it self.

I can second that. I had the exact same problem and it was in the ground

I have the same problem with my USA Spec interface. I grounded the black wire to the radio too. What I do to get it to work is turn off the radio, unplug the iPod, plug it back in, and turn the radio back on. It's a hit or miss but I get it to work this way. I also have the Monsoon HU and use the plug behind the stereo.
