What kind of radio is in a 2003 Turbo S

I just bought a 2003 turbo s at an auction and the head unit turns on but there's no sound. the service guy at vw said its probably the head unit thats bad. I have been looking at some wreck yards near by (portland,OR), but they need to know what kind of radio it is. The one in there now is a "gamma" according to the wreck yard, but i thought the turbo s came standard with the monsoon system. How can i verify this. does the monsoon system have an external amp? if so where would it be? The head unit ihave doesn't say monsoon but it may have been relaced before. Please help with any advise. thank you

TurboS cam with the Monsoon sound...standard...period.

If you like you can look on the cassette deck flap - should say Monsoon. Also, the amp is located in the back, driver side above the bumper...if you pull down the spare tire cover from the back wall of the car, then look down between the body you will see it. I took a picture of the location and it is posted somewhere.

I found it. thank you so much. the service guy at vw said it didn't have the monsoon because he couldnt find the amp. You are awesome. The head unit in my car must have been replaced, because it doesn't say monsoon on the tape deck flap or anywhere else. thank you soo much.

Another Monsoon tip:

All cars with monsoon have 2 speakers on the dash next to the ones on the A pillar (sides of windshields)
