Default Need iPod interface 4 monsoon CD player

I want to integrate my iPod to my OEM Monsoon CD player (no CD changer/has CDP button). So far, I have been unsuccessful. I picked up a USA Spec interface from Crutchfield and the thing works properly whenever it wants. I have to shut off the stereo, plug in the iPod, then turn on the stereo for it to work. Sometimes, it plays about 2 seconds of the first track and it freezes. I hit the CDP button and it gives me the "No CD" message. I then have to turn off radio, unplug the iPod, plug it back in, and then turn on the radio again until it works. It's an intermittent problem. When it takes the Interface all is great and works until I unplug the iPod. I need to know how what interface you guys are usin. Preferably those who have the same HU as I.

OEM Monsoon CD Player, No Changer, with a CDP button (not AUX)

PS. I will take out the HU again and rearrange the wires so that I know it's not a connection problem. Very limited room behind the HU might have crimped a wire or something. I hope someone is runnin the same interface.

Default another solution maybe?

Hi,

I know this doesn't quite address your problem, I'm not electronics savvy, but have you ever considered using a good (Monster) fm transmitter for your pod? I love mine, and it is very easy to use. You get the transmitter, plug it into the cigarette lighter outlet, it lights up and tells you where there is an open fm signal, you tune your fm radio to that station, plug the other end of the wire into the pod, turn it on and up all the way. It's worked for me.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried those before and was none too happy about the sound quality. I'd also like to retain the ability to use my OEM HU controls. I might get an aftermarket HU or just put up with the hassle of usin my current interface. A couple of seconds of my time and I can get it to work. Not worth another $150 to replace. Thanks again

Contact EnfigCarStereo.com. They have several potential solutions. You may actually need to call them after looking at the website.

I have two ports. One that is not in use and the one the manual tells me to use. I'm assuming this is the AUX port.

I'm using a blitzsafe adapter that plugs into the cd changer port on the back of the radio and it charges your ipod at the same time. Actually I'm trying to sell it but it was really good quality and worked great with my ipod. I would recommend it.

This sounds terrific. Have a Monsoon with no CD changer. Been looking for a solution for nice Ipod sound. How do you recommend doing the install? Where does the adapter cable run thru the dash to access the Ipod?

I may want to buy yours...how much?

I ran the wire down from the radio and tucked it under the center console and brought it up into the armrest so I can access it easily while driving. It was kinda complicated, I'm sure there are easier ways to go about it. It give really clear sound at any volume though, better than anything else I tried. I'll sell it for $65 shipped.
