is cassette player locked too?

So on my bug, the radio is locked, does this mean I can't use the cassette player until I unlock it?

I just bought this cassette adapter thing to play my ipod from, and I tried it today and it didn't work....

any advice?

If your radio is in safe mode, nothing will work until the code is entered.
