Default Sirius Radio

I've just installed (myself) a Sirius Starmate 5 in my '04 NBC...everything is fine other than the static I'm getting from using the FM transmitter in the Sirius radio. With most music you can tune it out, but with the dynamics involved in classical music and talk radio it gets annoying.

My radio is the Monsoon, cassette radio (early '04). Therefore there is no audio input. Other than using the cassette adapter (better than what I have now), is it possible to go direct into the radio without sacrificing my console 6 CD changer input?

I've listened using headphones and there is "no static at all" (i.e., Steely Dan's FM)...

I've used a portable unit with the FM transmitter. Kinda hated it too. VW really waited too long to get rid of the cassette. Sheesh, even into 2004!

For our 2003 TDI, we could do nothing *but* sacrifice the CD button to the JVC unit we installed, in order to avoid the FM.

You are most likely out of luck.

Try enfig! They have a bunch of AUX-IN adapters you could buy and install yourself. You could keep your stock headunit AND still play your satellite radio on it via the AUX-IN

Thanks for the suggestion.
I assume this is the page you had in mind:
Aux auxiliary audio input interface adapters for Volkswagen EnfigCarStereo.com iPod XM Sirius car interface adapter kit specialists.

Which one do you suggest?

Probably so on that count...I have a 6CD changer in the console.

Has anyone had any success with the Direct FM Audio connection? (see illustration below). I don't even know what the antenna connector looks like on a 2004 Monsoon radio.

Well, the Direct FM Audio connection did the trick...now every channel sounds like a CD. No static at all...FM (a la Steely Dan )
