Default Best ipod adapter

Hi there everyone

i have a 2001 beetle has moonsoon audio with casette player and cd changer but i want to use ipod with it to listen mp3's

I especially do not need to use any casette or aux adapter or a fm transmitter because i want to control the ipod directly by my cars original moonsoon audio systems cd changer option without seeing ipod or any kind of cable there. Does anybody using these kind adapters? Some of them can control the ipod directly by original audio system buttons but i looked most of them do not show song names and tags in audio screen. Can anybody advice me a adapter have that capabilities.

Thanks much for any kind of advice

Default I have one of this!

Hello there. I had your same problem (wanted to keep my original radio and yet be able to use my ipod. well after doing some research in this webpage and found out about a wire that you plug in and that's about it...ready for your ipod.

I got
BlitzSafe VW/M-LINK1 V.3
which I bought online (enfig carstereo com)

the price was 69.99 which is not bad at all. now one thing....
with this one, you can't control the ipod on the radio...besides that, quality and sound are awesome.

now, you have to keep in mind that if you have a cd changer, you won't be able to use it anymore.

I was doing some research and I found this one that may help you. It is double the price of mine but at least it says you can control everything directly from your radio. good luck!

Thanks much alquimista

My main aim is not touching the beetle's perfect interior design and i also have a non working cd changer and dismounted it i am looking at the adapters but most of them have no moonsoon head unit control. i will also search a bit more if i can find a adapter that controls ipod through radio controls or i will go blitz and jump songs vs by ipod. thanks much for your advice

and i also looked up there more but i think there is not a product lesser than $200 have the capabilities i want

Hi again everyone after a long research at last i bought a DMC-9088 digital mp3 car link unit and mounted it to my monsoon casette audio player. It connects to 8 pin cd changer port of audio and all the system controlled by the original monsoon headunit's cd changer related controls. I bought it from turkey and price is about 45 usd. That thing really satisfied me about sound quality and usefulness. You can use it also as aux and it can read sd cards and usb flashdisks.

there is a video about how it works on a vw head unit
YouTube - car digital music changer

and there is a link about item description

Thanks everyone for any kind of help and information

VW offers an Ipod adapter kit that charges the Ipod and allows control from the stereo. Benefit being VW has to make it work - no finger pointing...but more money.

I have also seen more sophisticated adapters from Neo (Ipod & Aux capability).

Does anyone actually have the VW Ipod Adaptor installed? Is it cheaper to purchase another brand?
