Default Factory Monsoon Radio Problem Help!!

Well just got the NB back from the repair shop last night It was in the shop for vehicle insption for MD TAGS and to get it's 128000 service. The shop did alot of servicing in prepairing it for the road in Maryland. Many of the items serviced or replaced were from this fourm. The shop even had to replace one of the door speakers because it did not work.

However, when I was driving it today to get it's MD STATE TAGS, I tried to tune in an AM Station but I got nothing. The FM works but does not pick up all the FM stations clearly. Does anybody know where to start looking for the problem? I saw a VW Technical Bulletin about Poor Receiption and it talked about non-compatable antenna and corrosion issues at the antenna base, but it only covers up to model year 2000.

Any idea's or help is appreciated.

sounds like the antenna cable might be unplugged or the antenna is shorted to ground (fastest way to kill AM).

It's weird that this happened all of a sudden. Replacing the door speaker would not knock out reception....unless the radio was pulled to look at the rear plugs and the antenna cable popped loose. Delphi had made a plastic cable retainer to stop the antenna cable from popping off the back, this might have been damaged if "the shop" isn't familiar with a VW radio.
