Default CD Player ate my CD

I have a 2005 model and the cd player ate my cd. Does anyone have any idea of how to get it out? It is a factory unit.

Thanks!

My head unit failed about 2 months ago. Because I was still in warranty, VW replaced my head unit. The dealership sent it back (to somewhere) and they were able to remove the CD. It's supposed to be on its way back to me.

I have no idea what they were able to do to get it out. I looked the head unit over and couldn't figure out how to get it out. I can only suspect that they are able to direct power the eject system to get it out.

Short story - I don't know if you can do it yourself. I doubt it based on my experience.

On occaision you can cycle the power to the radio and the CD will eject, but if there is a mechanical failure of the CD deck then it will have to be disassembled to get the cd out. The people who got the Delphi VW contract after my old company went out of business was D&B Auto Radio near Chicago, I'm not sure if they still have the contract or not.

Thanks for the replies. I finally got around to calling the dealer and they said the same thing. They have to send the unit in and the cd will be returned to me. VW apparently does not let the dealers open the unit.
