Default CD Changer Harness

I have a question about the harness for the cd changer on a 2003 beetle. The cd changer harness is in the console, and I would like to mount a changer in the trunk, is there anyone that makes a harness to plug into the center console that would extend to the rear trunk area?

Yeah VW has the part but it is $103.20 it is in the driver gear book as an accessory to the phatbox. Part number 1J0051592A

For 2003.5's and Verts. I basically made one by splicing the cable to make it longer.

That cable actually hooks into the rear of the headunit. Slugo and I have already discussed that one.

What he's after is a cable that hooks up to the existing CD changer cable in the center console.

I left pretty detailed instructions on how to make one yourself, Slugo. As far as I know, that's the only way to do it. I doubt any after-market companies would be terribly interested in pre-building them for the market.

I cut the connector from under the center console off leaving a few inches on connector(color code will guide you in reconnecting) and spliced wires of equivalent size on to the connector. Then connected a female molex connector (available at Radio Shack) to the wire ends then spliced and soldered wires to the cutoff connector and attached male molex to those. Ran wires under carpet and back seat to the console under drivers seat. An alternate method would be to splice from CD changer end connector instead. Just be sure to use the same or larger wires and insulate them well. I had no problems and saved maybe $95
