CD Changer in center console

Hi, everybody!

Thanks to everybody in the current forum trail I found out how to remove my cd-changer in the center console.

My question is as follow:
Can I install an aftermarket cd in the center console after I remove my 6cd changer?

I have a 04 Beetle and the dash unit is a Moonson with radio and cassette (no cd). If I can install a cd in my center console box what additional part do I need?

It's wired as a CD changer. In theory you could rewire it to be the actual radio, but the armrest wouldn't close (as most aftermarket head units aren't flush and won't fit flush).

If you need the tray/box that fits in the console in place of the CD player let me know. I have an extra.
