1999 beetle cd magazine error

My 1999 bettle was missing the cd magazine. I went on ebay and bought it, inserted it and now up front the cd player keeps sayin check magazine or cd error......anyone know whats wrong.

Are you putting the CD's in the trays correctly? Some players require the Cd's to be installed upside down in the tray and some not, there should be writing on the magazine as to how the disc's go in.
