Thumbs down Radio will not power up

Guys, I have a 2000 VW Beetle GLS. We came out side one day after a bid snow and the battery was almost dead. We just drover my truck and let the bug set a few days. When we tried to start it again, it acted live it had not charge at all. So we jumped it off. When it started back the radio would not come one. I mean it did not have any power at all. I press the on button and nothing. I hold it down and nothing. I have taken all of the fuses out in the fuse panel to the left of the steering wheel and id did not see any burned out. I paid close attention to fuse number 43 and 37 as the internet said these control the radio. The look good. is there any other fused I should check out. Dose the radio itself have a fuse in the back of it. What about safe mode. To mu understanding safe more would indicate it is in safe mode on the radios screen. Once again the radio itself will not power up and I get nothing on the screens and not light either. please help, it suck driving without tunes.

Yes, there is a fuse on the back of the radio.

Pull out the radio and check the fuse on the top right corner of the radio. It's a blade fuse, you can't miss it. Hopefully that's the problem.

When mine went out in the '03, though, I had not started the car for almost a month and a half, and the battery was dead dead dead. (I bought a battery tender that weekend) . I charged the battery, and everything else came back to life, but the radio wouldn't turn on, just like yours. I also checked all the fuses, including the back of the radio one, and all was good. So I took it to the dealership, where they installed a new one under warranty. My SA's explanation was that "we get a lot of the NB radios that die after a battery failure." He may just have been trying to make me feel better, but he's always been truthful with me before (I've bought several cars from them). I hope you have a happier end result...
