Stupid Question about my New Beetle's Stereo

Hey Guys,

Ok I have two questions here, first how do I know if I have a Monsoon sound system in my New Beetle?

Second what website would ya'll recommend for getting a replacement audio system for the New Beetle. I want to get the whole 9 yards, not just the stereo, but the wiring harness, adapter kit, etc.

I looked at getting the Monsoon CD MP3 player, but 350 is way too much and I know I can get a way better aftermarket radio for much less.

Well my beetle says Monsoon on the radio and there are extra larger speakers on the dash.

Yeah . . . mine doesn't and I only see 4 speakers in mine, two in the doors and two behind me . . .

I guess that means I don't have the Monsoon sound system? Which is fine, I want to replace my radio as it is because the radio reception is not all that great and I really want RDS.

Mine also has Monsoon scroll on the display when I turn on my radio...but I have to admit I didn't look to see what year your car is. My Turbo S is a 2002.
Check out the audio section on here and you should learn a lot...or start looking and ask people's advice.
We have 2 speakers in the doors, 2 in the rear and 2 speakers built into the dash. I didn't even realize they were speakers the first day I drove.

you can start at crutchfield.com the site will tell you what is compatible with your buggy. gives you ideas by searching for more custom work for different applications.
