I'm considering the JVC Arsenal KD-AHD69. Has anyone had any experience with this receiver?

i havent had any personal expereince wth that specific model. but i have had experience with jvc. they are traditionally nice units.

if your using it in a new beetle i strongly suggest getting a different radio, as theres a feature this one does not have...actually i dont think any jvc has it. and thats time correction. it aligns the play of the speakers to get to you ear at the correct time. kinda sounds fruity i know. but your much close to the rear speaker then the front and it makes a big difference.

i cant stress enough how huge of an improvement it makes in all cars, but especially the nb.

kenwood makes units with that feature built in. and alpine has units that need an additional module to do it...

i myself have a kenwood.

anyways. the voltage of the rcas is great, however i question y a manufacturer would not make it with 3 sets of rca outs, so you could have independent sub control thru the radio it self.

and i like the 7 band eq. \

just seems like an odd mix. to have a 7 band eq but only 2 sets of rca outs..

also if you plan on running an ipod from it....the onboard functionality of running the ipod kinda stinks. the best in the biz is alpine, then kenwood and pioneer and eclipse...everyone elses interface kinda stinks.

anyways., if your youll never put in an amp for your highs and a sub and amp then itll be fine. but you could get a radio that will flat out sound better cause of time correction for the same price or cheaper.

good luck

I've got experience with JVC and other brands as well. (former installer) My advice is to stay away from ANY headunit with a motorized face, if you plan on keeping it very long, that is. I've got 2 JVCs that are both good radios and cd/changer controllers, but can't use the cd players because the motorized face motors are worn out. Seen this happen with many brands. I use Kenwood almost exclusively now, but that's just my preference. Hope this helps.
