Default Navigation/mp3 system for beetle

Does anyone know if it is possible to put an in-dash navigation/mp3 system in the Beetle? If so, could you offer a suggestion of one?

yeah its possible

however i really have never found one thats worth the money.

usually they are slow and dont recalculate well. i suppose if you had your heart set on getting one id look into the kenwoods. as they use the best maps systems...and should be the cheapest to update when it comes time to do so (older eclipse units cost up to 400 bucks to update maps...so you might wanna look into this before you buy)

also youll obviously need a single din flip out unit....if i were you id take off the panel that houses the vents, radio, and heater controls... its actually not hard to do and is only about 12 easy to access t15 screws. once you have it off....cut off all the excess plastic that holds the orginal radio in place....its all extra crap that doesnt need to be there anyways. and its just gonna make installing a unit like a flip out very difficult. so get rid of it all...itll help with wiring, fit, and keeping the new unit cool. it might take you an extra 30 minutes. and its well worth it.

good luck
