Default So, I want to make use of the AUX...

Hey guys... I have a single CD in-dash player, that plays MP3s, in my 98 Beetle. BUT I want to have the AUX button actually work.

What info do I need to provide to figure out what kind of cable I need so I can patch my Droid into the radio?

It's a satellite radio... if that helps... I have SAT and AUX buttons on it.

I don't know about the factory units, but I used to have my mp3 player hooked up to my last headunit with just a regular audio cable I believe. Fit right into the headphone plug on my player. Hit the aux button and it played. Same goes on my current unit, but lucky for me the plug is in the front on this one, instead of behind.

I would think just a regular cable would work fine. Just plug it into the headphone jack on your phone. I think we might have a cable at home somewhere. I can ask Bill and if we do, we can always try it.

I don't have a miniplug. The unit supports AUX but since it came from a later model car that had the under-dash mini plug port, I don't have that! I need the adapter to go from the head unit to a mini plug female or become a mini plug male cable to route out of the dash....

Google Grom Audio. I just got an adapter from them so I can play and charge my ipod through the stock stereo in my 2003. I think they might have something to help you.
