Default new headunit suggestions

heres some suggestions for new headunits for those of you considering changing out urs.

i purchased the kenwood kiv-bt900. its an awesome unit. it is a media deck..and will not play cds however. the blutooth works well and it reads an ipod or zune, hard drive, or thumbdrive very quickly. as it has a video screen it loads album artwork..which takes the lognest...but is still easy to overlook.

the sound control on this unit...and the kenwood excelon x994 and x794 are all the same. 4 volt 6 channel output. and awesome sound shaping tools like speaker size selctors..front rear and sub crossovers, direct sub contro(so forget aobut using a bass knob) and even time alignment and cabin adjustments are possible and easy to make. the only pioneer to offer time correction cost 1300 dollars...these range from 220 to 400 on crutchfield. two alpine models have similar features. one beind the cda 9887...and the other being the cda-117. ud probably be best to add the imprint processor to the second one...but they both have tons of adjustments. i may have gone with the alpine..but the easy of navigation of media using the kenwood is far superior...and the screen on the 900 model is just too awesome to pass up. id suggest these to anyone out there.

let me know if i can help with any other suggestion..but ill be honest...if you dont et a radio with time alignment control your an idiot...it makes a huge adjustment to sound in the bugs....

Default JVC HeadUnit

I just installed a JVC unit in my Bug and it worked out awesome. I purchased it, along with the antenna adapter and wiring harness from Crutchfield and it worked out just slick. The unit slid in with plenty of room. I made sure I took my time in soldering the harness adapter to the JVC harness. Within about 30 minutes after soldering the harness I had the stereo installed. I was a little worried with all the hype I'd heard and nightmares people had experienced in doing this mod. Very Slick!
