I just bought a 2007 New Beetle convertible.
I want to subscribe to Sirius radio, but i'm unable to get the radio code. Does anyone know where or if there is a Sirius box and where it's located? I was told front right kick panel, not there. I was also told the trunk driver side, but nothing there. I thought the code would come up when hitting the SAT button then go to channel 0 but i can't get it to 0. All help is appreciated. Thank you! |

Thank you.
I tried that, but for some reason all I get is an "updating" message. and it just keeps saying "updating" Maybe i don't have all the equipment installed for SAT radio? I would think I do. I can get it to tune to channel 184 but wont go to zero. |

Maybe that's what the Before meant. Not currently subscribing to Sirius, but I have others say they did a major update a few weeks ago. It does appear that channel 0 is where the ID number will be displayed. Either contact Sirius or a dealer for more information. I don't have an answer for you.

I don't know if the OPer will be back, but for anyone else, here is some pertinent information.
I just received the attached SiriusXM Radio solicitation in the mail. Receipt of this tells me one thing for sure as there is nowhere else they could have obtained the information. While I have SAT on my radio head unit, and a number to call to subscribe comes up when I hit the SAT button, I have never contacted them. It is quite apparent from this solicitation that VW sells updated Ownership information to SiriusXM Radio. The only common denominator between the NB I own and the Sirius Radio ID (ESN) is the VIN. I would deduce from this, that to establish service with Sirius they will only need your VIN. You may have to speak with someone higher up than a phone Rep and you probably can't sign up on the web with the VIN, but I BET SiriusXM CAN hook you up! This would also tell me, that if you swap in a SAT unit, you need to know the VIN of the donor vehicle, safer than hoping it comes up on the display when you get it installed. The upside for me, 3 FREE months of Full Service, no strings, as I can find. WooHoo! Although I'm certain,it will not just be there as stated that it might. I feel certain I will have to go online and "refresh", also as stated "I might", at which time I am sure I will have to give credit card billing for automatic renewal at the end of the trial period if I "forget" to cancel. Also stated at the bottom in the fine print. MORAV

I have a 2007 NBC as well and from personal experience, the Monsoon radio that comes with this bug does NOT have the Satellite capability built into it. I had to install a plug and play XM receiver in my NBC.
Did you receive the obligatory owners manuals with the car when you purchased it? Check in the glove box...somewhere in one of those manuals you should locate the code for the radio. Might want to contact a VW dealer on this as well. When in doubt, ALWAYS peruse the owner's manuals. Good luck. Jerry |

Two different Monsoons offered , one with SAT, one without. If there is a "SAT" function button on the radio head, it has the capability built in, otherwise the OEM Sat Receiver is not a PnP, a secondary Sat antenna is also needed.
I had assumed the OP had a SAT headunit when the question was posed. M. |

Go to XM Sirus web site get the toll free number for XM if they still post them seperately. I for get who bought who but the XM people are easeier to deal with. Tell them what younhave and they will tell you how to pull the radio ID up. They will set up an account for you and should give you 3mo free because you are the new owner of the car, if not haggle with them, they will give it to you. You can set up payment plan of your choice. Pay as you go or auto withdraw. This can be done while you sit in you car. They used to give the option of sirrus or xm get both if they do, same price around 12 dollars per month, cheap entertaiment, I dont listen to anything else, I love NO comercials.
