Question Discrete car audio

I kinda need my trunk space so thats out.
I'm looking just for a mild upgrade, whatever makes metal sound awesome.
I need discrete mounting locations for subbies, immediately I think of my dash board, there's a big of space under the panels in front of the windshield on the air filter and ECU side.
I can see some sort of thing working on the hatch but I'd need small woofers.
I can see mounting in the wall in either the back seat or the trunk, but I don't want them to protrude too much.

Anyone do an under the seat job?

I don't want to spend a whole lot on sound, just upgrade what I have (aftermarket deck, will install two okay speakers in the front tomorrow).
I know I need an amp as well.

Anyone install directly into the rear fold down seat, like facing the trunk? I'm looking for some good crazy spots lol. I don't have the time/materials/space to put in a big box with 2 12s, nor do I want to lose my spare tire (meth injection kit will go in there).

Would I be better going for just awesome speakers and tweeters and an amp? Or do they make a tiny subwoofer that I can install 6 of?

I mainly listen to Nirvana and Metallica, sometimes Tupac. I don't really care about rattling my teeth, just nice sound.
Any suggestions?

JL Audio do a 13 1/2 inch that is 2 and a half inches thick.

Saw it at a show last weekend. Installed in a box that took up 10% of the boot space. Installed at 90 degrees to the rear seats. Unless you new it wasn't part of the boot interior you wouldn't know. JL Audio also do a tiny 600w RMS 6 channel amp. Size a bit bigger than your hand. Have a look around. The products are out there

if space is the issue you can do the jl audio stealth box which goes under the carpet in your trunk and fits around the spare tire or you can do a bazooka tube with a built in amp or an mtx sallow 10" sub with sallow box to put under seat but when to move seat you'll see it, best bet would be do your door speakers with component speakers JL or JBL, pioneer or even infinity are great and run a small amp to those you"ll be happy and still have room, remember to get a good deck also as it makes a difference, im still thinking about what i'm going to install in my bug as well i want earth shattering bass my mirrors need to shake until they fall off!!
