Exclamation Radio not working!

Ever since my car was taken into the shop for brakes nearly 1year ago I've had problems with the radio. At first it would power on when I turned on the car but it would forget all the programmed stations. Then as the months went on it got worse and it would power on in SAFE mode. Then later it would have to be manually turned on then off then back on for SAFE mode to even come up. NOW the radio doesn't power on at all. It will blink randomly or if I get to the SAFE mode screen it will lose power before I can put in the code. All this started when I took it in to fix the brakes and when and I picked up the car the battery was dead(not sure why) We jumped it and it started right up. It wasn't until maybe 6months later that one night my battery was dead completly. It jumped right away and then the next day the battery was dead again. After a trip to the repair shop they discovered the cables on the battery were just a tad lose but the battery was good. I haven't had problems with the battery since but yet the radio is pretty non-functional right now at all as it won't stay powered on and even when it does it goes into SAFE mode.

WHAT is causing this?(I heard a disconnected battery can screw up the radio programming and system etc.)How can I fix it?
HELP! The silence on long car rides is killing me...

Long and short of it, is that your radio is fried

With all your battery problems, it's fried the insides.

New radio from as little as $10 or replace with an original one

OK, you havenŽt had a battery problem, youŽve had a loose connection problem and you may still have one. Are any other electrical items affected at the same time?

Going into SAFE etc etc are all symptoms of the permanent live 12V feed becoming disconnected. If only the radio is affected then IŽd start with the connections into the radio itself although it may be any conection on the perm 12V side back to the battery - and check the earth cable from the battery to the chassis too.
