Default Replacement Speaker Suggestions?

My passenger door speaker is blown and I'm looking to replace both door speakers. I downloaded the info on Delphi Monsoon systems that another member was nice enough to post. Looking at the number of aftermarket speakers out there boggles my mind... too many choices! Any suggestions on brands?

Also I have a concern about the speaker size - OEMs are 6.75" but all the aftermarkets I see are 6.5". Is an adapter required?

Thanks in advance!

Do you have the Monsoon system? They use 2 ohm speakers and most aftermarket speakers are 4 ohm.

As for aftermarket speakers, they come with a plastic plate adapter and other hardware (screws, clips, wire, ect.). I just purchased a set of Alpine 6.5" componet set and they sound great. You can get all 6 speakers changed out for $250 or less.

Alpine 6.5" componet set (front 4 speakers) $125
Alpine 6.5" co axle (rear speakers) $100

Bought them at Best Buy in stock.

I've been using a set of Boston Acoustics pro 6.4lf's. They are great and offer a wonderful sound range with clarity and accuracy. That being said, i think the monsoon speakers are actually small subwoofers. In order to replicate that low end sound, i would buy a set of Focal K2's. You can't go wrong with either choice.
